I find myself in your story. Thanks for sharing it. I too was a Cub Scout, joined the swim team after getting looked over several times, became a boy Boy Scout, rejected my Asian identity, and hung out with mostly non-Asian students. All the while I was desperately looking for a role model that didn't seem to exist. But as time rolled on, I see glimpses of people that I can identify with and a realization that can define role models for our next generation.
